INOTEX 2024: Urmia Hosts Regional Research Pitch Competition

Urmia, Iran - April 20, 2024 - The INOTEX 2024 Regional Research Pitch Competition concluded in Urmia, West Azerbaijan Province, with the selection of four top research projects. The event, held at Urmia University, attracted 49 research proposals, of which 20 were shortlisted for oral presentations.

The winning projects were selected across four categories: Water, Energy, and Environment; Health and Medical Equipment; Food and Agriculture; and Mining and Mineral Industries.

Water, Energy, and Environment: "Production of struvite-organic matter composite as a slow-release phosphate fertilizer from sewage sludge" (Marzieh Piri)

Health and Medical Equipment: "Effect of hydroxyapatite along with raffinose and glutathione on sperm quality following freeze-thaw cycles" (Sana Moshari)

Food and Agriculture: "Hydrolysis of feather meal and production of protein isolate using ozone processing method and its replacement with soybean meal in animal feed" (Behzad Asadnejad)

Mining and Mineral Industries: "Optimizing modified asphalt with rubber powder" (Nader Solatifar)

The selected projects will advance to the INOTEX 2024 Grand Finale, scheduled for May 7-10 at the Pardis Innovation District in Tehran.

Following the regional Research Pitch competitions, preparations will begin for the final event. The INOTEX 2024 Research Pitch Competition is organized by the INOTEX Secretariat and has been held in Kermanshah, Sistan and Baluchestan, Yazd, Tehran, Bushehr, and the North West provinces.
