The 1st International Innovation and Technology Funding Exhibition (FINOTEX) is being held at the INOTEX exhibition. The aim of this event is to help provide funds for innovative and technology companies.
 

The 1st  press conference of the FINOTEX 2023 International Innovation and Technology Exhibition was held this morning at the Science, Technology, and Economy of the Presidential Office of Science and Technology. The conference was attended by Hashem Aghazadeh, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and the Economy of the Presidency, Sajjad Abbasi Fashami, Secretary of INOTEX Exhibition, Mohammad Ali Shirazi, CEO of the Tehran Stock Exchange, Siavash Malekifar, Deputy Development of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, and Mohammad Mehdi Fereidoon, CEO of the University Research and Technology Fund.

In this meeting, Hashem Aghazadeh, the Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and the Economy of the Presidency, pointed out that one of the main focuses of this event is to review the solutions for financing.

He added: "The naming of 1401 as the year of a knowledge-based economy by the Supreme Leader and the approval of the law on the leap in the production of knowledge-based industries show the country's serious attention to the knowledge-based economy. In this regard, with a change in the structure of the Vice Presidency, financing has been placed in the new mission of the Vice Presidency."

"The majority of financing for knowledge-based companies has been from government financing and through institutions such as the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, which due to the limitation of these resources, planning has been made for an event in the field of financing," said the Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and the Economy of the Presidency.

Aghazadeh concluded his remarks by saying: "The main focus of the FINOTEX event is the development of the knowledge-based economy, and due to the importance of this issue, the Presidency's Science, Technology, and the Economy Vice Presidency is responsible for the policy-making council of this event."

Sajjad Abbasi Fashami, the Secretary of INOTEX Exhibition, also referred to the holding of the innovation and technology financing event at the INOTEX 2023 event, saying: "The main goal of this event is to provide the necessary infrastructure for financing and investment in the field of innovation and technology."
Abassi announced the holding of a festival to honor the best investment institutions and said, "During this event, the top institutions and personalities in the field of investment will be recognized." Alireza Daliri, the head of the scientific committee of the Innovex event, mentioned changes in the financial sector in recent years and said, "The vice presidency for science and technology of the knowledge-based economy was formed in 2007 with a focus on innovation and technology. We have created more structures in the ninth and tenth governments, and some laws have been passed."

He added, "After continuous efforts, today banks provide various facilities to startups and knowledge-based companies, while in the past, banks considered this ecosystem too risky, and investors were not interested in investing in this area."

Daliri concluded by saying, "At FINOTEX, we will also analyze past performance and have three educational workshops based on past experiences. We will introduce institutions that have a better understanding of startups."

Mohammad Ali Shirazi, CEO of the Iran Fara Bourse Organization, also spoke at this session and emphasized the necessity of all economic infrastructures becoming knowledge-based. "The structure of the Iran Fara Bourse is suitable for creating financial mechanisms for economic enterprises and investment platforms," he said.

He added, "The Iran Fara Bourse, with its diverse markets such as the primary and secondary markets, the base agreement market, the agreement market, and the medium-sized company market, provides a suitable platform for financing knowledge-based companies at different levels." Shirazi announced the Iran Fara Bourse's plan to establish a knowledge-based market and said, "The market's acceptance committee will be formed by experts in this field, according to the innovation and technology ecosystem."

The CEO of the Iran Fara Bourse also mentioned the collective financing platforms as another facility of the Iran Fara Bourse for financing innovation and technology and added, "At present, 18 financing platforms with licenses from the Iran Fara Bourse are active." Siavash Maleki-Far, the deputy of the Development Fund, was also present at this session.
