The Path We Have Taken, The Path Ahead: Half a Century of Entrepreneurial Life

2024/05/09

Dr. Shahrokh Shibani, retired professor of Sharif University of Technology, said at the Fars INOTEX 2024 Award:

The late Dr. Mohammad Ali Mojtahedi, founder of Sharif University of Technology, believed that young, educated engineers are the foundation of a country's progress and wealth. Countries that have effectively utilized their educated youth have not only achieved scientific and industrial advancement but have also reached sustainable development.

In recent years, university professors’ policies were based on publishing papers that had little impact on national growth. Now, the strategy has shifted to connecting professors with industries to solve real-world problems.

Domestic technology, production, and support for educated youth are the keys to progress and sustainable development, achieved through the coordination of sales, production, engineering, and R&D departments.

Technology transfer is not just about transferring machinery and showing how it works; it is about learning technology and solving problems using others’ experience.

Government organizations, manufacturing companies, research capacities, and engineering consultancy and design firms must work hand in hand and collaborate closely to foster industrial growth.

Without support from these organizations, the accumulation of knowledge, technology, and wealth will occur abroad, leading to future delays and loss of services in our own country.
