The INOTEX 2025 Provincial Festival was held in Rasht, Gilan province. After the successful hosting of INOTEX provincial festivals in North Khorasan and Khuzestan, this time the event was organized in collaboration with Gilan University and the Gilan Science and Technology Park.

ResearchPitch

The ResearchPitch event in Gilan saw 48 research proposals, with 12 of them advancing to the live presentation stage after an initial evaluation. During the opening of the event, Engineer Mohammad Hossein Askari, Director General of Technology Unit Attraction and Acceptance at the Park of Technology Pardis, welcomed the participants and provided insights about Pardis Technology Park and INOTEX. Then, Dr. Alireza Sadr Mamtaz, Vice Chancellor for Education and Graduate Studies at Gilan University, talked about the importance of research and industry-driven problem-solving.

The event took place on Wednesday, February 6, 2025, and from the submitted research, six proposals were selected in the following fields:

Advanced Equipment, Machinery, and Materials:

• High-sensitivity strain gauge based on a nano-composite (Ali Amani, Dr. Majid Ali Tavoli, Dr. Reza Ansari)

Water, Energy, and Environment:

• Design and construction of a boiler controller using a fuzzy inference system to reduce energy consumption (Pouria Takhtichian and Reza Hassan Zadeh Pakrezaei)
• Wastewater from a paper mill using waste paper for reuse in production (Sahar Rosouli and Behruz Abbasi Surki)
• Olive oil wastewater treatment by distillation method (Marzieh Khoshesh and Dr. Behruz Abbasi Surki)

Future Health and Medicine:

• Design and implementation of an affordable web-cam-based physical rehabilitation system using deep learning methods (Shayan Mosadghi and Reza Hassan Zadeh Pakrezaei)
• Biodegradable Halocromic fibers for monitoring meat product spoilage (Seyedeh Mahdieh Akbari and Dr. Alireza Mehrgan Niko)

InotexPitch

In the InotexPitch competition, 72 startup teams were registered, with 15 teams advancing to the live presentation stage after an initial evaluation. During the opening, Dr. Amin Malekpour, Head of the Gilan Science and Technology Park, talked about innovation processes in startup ecosystems. Engineer Babak Sohrabi, Founder and CEO of Jajiga, shared his experiences regarding the challenges, failures, and successes in the entrepreneurship journey.

The competition took place on Thursday, February 7, 2025, and two teams were selected from the presented ideas:

First Place:

• Zist Model TT: Creation and production of bacterial culture media in 20 minutes with high precision

Second Place:

• MeDoPia: A game studio and platform for developing Android-based games

Additionally, Famon (a platform for selling screenplays to directors) and Hanitom (a platform for turning smartphones into game controllers for computers) were awarded as Honorable Mentions.

Future of the Competitions

The winners of both events have earned the opportunity to participate in the INOTEX 2025 Final alongside the INOTEX International Exhibition, which will take place from April 29 to May 2, 2025, at the Iran Innovation International District and Pardis Technology Park.

It is worth mentioning that Tehran has been selected as the next destination for the INOTEX Provincial Festival, scheduled for February 13-14, 2025.
